Art From Death Row

deathrow art1 Art From Death RowAn Art show with a difference in Oakland CA showcases art created by death row residents at San Quentin, “Oakland North” – a news project of U.C. Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism – reports today.

The show reveals an amazing diversity of subject-matter and styles and a high level of skill and inspiration in the exhibitors.

The show’s organizers, members of Campaign to End the Death Penalty and Art for a Democratic Society, put the exhibit together in order to humanize the people who, they say, society forgets.

The exhibit has been on display at Rock Paper Scissors since the first of October and will come down next week.
